Description
Txakoli Irribarrak (Smiles) Frida
It is a small winery located in the upper Garate, in Llodio. It was born in 2007 as a result of the deep-rooted tradition of the baserri Garate for the elaboration of txakoli. We grow four grape varieties: Hondarrabi Zuri, Petit Courbu, Riesling and Hondarrabi Beltza, from which two txakolis are made: txakoli Garate blanco. In addition, we make txakoli fermented in French barrels, txakoli vermouth and Riesling monovarietal.
ELABORATION
Made with grapes from plot 1038 of the Petit Courbu-Hondarrabi Zuri Zerratia variety. It is harvested in 10 kg boxes that are quickly transported to the winery for destemming and low pressure pressing. Fermentation begins in a stainless steel tank and then moves to French oak barrels, where it ferments. Once fermented, it remains in the barrel where it will age along with its lees for 6 months. After that time, it is allowed to clarify and is bottled. It will remain in the bottle for a year.
TASTING NOTES
The Txakoli Irribarrak Frida is bright straw yellow in colour. High intensity on the nose with notes of yeast, compotes and stone fruit. Fresh, round and long-lasting on the palate.
Service temperature: 10º-12ºC
