Description
Txakoli Ulacia
With over three generations dedicated to the production of Txakoli, Bodega Ulacia stands out for its profound respect for winemaking traditions.
This respect, combined with knowledge passed down through generations of family experience, allows them to merge craftsmanship with technology and tradition with modernity. The result is unique wines that excel in quality and character.
In 2009, they inaugurated a new winery equipped with cutting-edge technology, designed to produce an exclusive Txakoli that captures the essence of the green hills of Getaria, the origin of their grapes: 95% Hondarrabi Zuri and 5% Hondarrabi Beltza. The vineyards, mostly located in Getaria, range in age from 5 to 60 years. Planted in trellises and oriented to the south, these grapes are renowned for their exceptional quality.
PRODUCTION
Between late September and early October, when the grapes reach their optimal level of ripeness, the harvest is carried out. This process is done manually, with the grape clusters placed in small boxes to preserve their integrity.
For juice extraction, pneumatic presses are used, ensuring gentle handling of the grapes. The resulting juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks, where the temperature is carefully controlled throughout the process. After several months of resting in the winery, the Txakoli is ready to be bottled.
TASTING NOTES
Txakoli Ulacia features a pale yellow color with greenish highlights. Its aroma is intense, showcasing notes of tropical fruits like pineapple and citrus. On the palate, it delivers a fresh, fruity, and well-balanced experience, with perfectly harmonized acidity. A slight hint of natural carbon dioxide, formed during fermentation, adds a subtle sparkle.
