Description

Txakoli Hegan Egin

A plot in Balmaseda, in the DO Bizkaiko Txakolina, 1 hectare of Petit Courbu (Hondarrabi Zuri Zerratia) and Petit Manseng on a steep slope. The story of 3 types, or rather the story and portrait of a place told by these three individuals: Gille, Alfredo and Imanol. The “flying” of a terroir, the liberation of ideas beyond the established confines, affirmation of the intense, unsuspected, surprising and indescribable flavors due to the system of analogies in use, Great dry white wine for aging, this “Txakoli” from birth sees things from another prism, such is our interpretation.

WINEMAKING
Petit Courbu 50%, Petit Manseng 50%. Vineyard owned by Alfredo Egia, located in Balmaseda (25 km southwest of Bilbao). Surface of 1 hectare in natural cultivation, preparations 500P and 501. Poor shallow cayuela soil (schists and stoneware with sandstone rocks), south facing and 30% slope. Manual harvest in boxes of 15 kg. Yield of 20 hl/ha. Vinification and aging at Bodegas Bizkai-Barne- Orozko. Direct pressing, light settling for 2 hours, alcoholic fermentation in new French oak barrels, three and 5 years old of 225, 300, 400 and 500 liters.

TASTING NOTES
Fusion of intense memories of saké with aromatic plants and humid rock, which announces a singularity in the development of the mouth, surprising in fat, volume and magmatic depth, sustained by an acidity at the level of the matter that encloses this ball of energy. Enigmatic.
