Description
Txakoli Filoxera
The Txakoli Filoxera is produced by Gure Ahaleginak, a family winery located in a beautiful setting (formerly known as the “Winery Route”) surrounded by its own vineyards which are equipped with anti-frost systems, both sprinkler and aeration, since Orduña , the only City of the Señorío de Bizkaia, is located at an altitude of 314 m., which influences its weather: sunny days that are not excessively hot and cool nights.
Orduña is located in the depression formed by the Nervión riverbed. Deep soils make our vineyards produce harmonically acidic and sugary musts. Aromatic and taste substances with a pleasant perception in the mouth. It produces a full-bodied and excellent quality txakoli made with grapes from the family vineyard, so the entire process is carried out without leaving the property.
ELABORATION
The grapes are harvested at the end of October. The vineyard is located in Orduña and the mountain shortens the hours of sun, therefore the grapes must be taken to the limit for maximum ripening. The harvest is done manually in 16-kilo baskets. Once the grapes arrive at the winery, they are destemmed and deposited in stainless steel, where they spontaneously ferment with their own yeasts. Once this process is finished, it is transferred to 225-liter oak barrels where it remains for about 6 months to carry out spontaneous malolactic fermentation. Our Filoxera wine is not stabilized or clarified. Tasting
TASTING NOTES
Garnet red with a medium-low robe, black fruit on a vegetable and balsamic background that gives way to toasted tones and mineral notes. Light and fresh on the palate with silky tannins and soft notes of well-assembled wood.
