Txakoli Batgara Aromas del Sur
The history of Bodega Batgara begins through the friendship between a restaurateur and a farmer, connoisseurs of the terroir and lovers of the vineyard. Located in the Alava town of Lezama, under the D.O. Arabako Txakolina, has more than 6 hectares of vineyards located 350 meters above sea level. An Atlantic climate with high rainfall and moderate temperatures, which together with the orography of the terrain (surrounded by the Gorbea Massif and the Sierra Salvada), provides landscapes of plains with alluvial meadows and others of soft hills between pine forests and centenary oaks.
VITICULTURE
Own vineyards worked under a viticulture of minimal intervention and reasoned, at 340 and 400m of altitude in Lezama, with a clay-calcareous and clayey soil with sand stone.
VINTAGE
100% manual in boxes of 15 kilos. Harvest in the second half of October.
ELABORATION
Low performance vertical pressing (60% max.). Spontaneous fermentation with autochthonous yeasts in 300l cherry barrels with 10 months of permanence on lees creating a controlled oxidation.
TASTING NOTES
Pale yellow color. Aromas of dried, toasted and ripe fruit. In the mouth, powerful entry flooding it with notes of picota cherry, bread with walnuts and a citrus background, lingering flavors.
